This story is a perfect illustration. I know a woman in L.A. in her late 30s, fairly attractive, great job in tech, makes good money. She just dumped her boyfriend of TEN years.

So WTF happened? The guy is a loser with no money, couldn't hold down a job, and was subsidized by the girl. The guy though is very good looking, lean & super fit, surfer/struggling musician type. Because she was so attracted to him (he was above her league physically) and because he made her feel good, she refused to see the red flags. Her friends & family alike told her he's wasting her time, but she insisted that he would change and eventually commit.

But nope. That never happened. So after TEN long years, she finally dumped him. I told her straight up that she fucked up, that she could have easily gotten married by now with a good successful man who would have been an awesome husband & dad. But because she wasn't as attracted to those men, she stuck with her boyfriend & rejected the other men.

Now I know what the feminists & white knights will say. "OMG you expect her to date a guy she's not attracted to!"

And of course, that misses the point. The point here is that life is full of trade-offs and we have to choose what factors to prioritize. This woman chose out of her own volition to stick with the CHAD during her sexual prime years even though it was clear it wouldn't result in marriage. She has no one to blame but herself. Instead of feeling sorry for women, we should treat them as rational adults capable of making their own decisions.
