PS3/Xbox, I don’t feel like hearing from doodikoff again. But iirc 360 had No Games after like 2009.
PS5 plays 4k blu ray. PS4 is the only gen with literally no innovation in terms of the game disc format. |

N64 got accused of having No Games like 3 months after release by next generation magazine. They skewered Howard Lincoln With Sega all of their failures were portrayed as fucking EPIC. We act like 32x was devastating. That’s not how shit worked back then. By the time you had heard about it it was in the bargain bin. No one wasted $180 on 32x and felt betrayed. The smear campaign was all Sony’s doing. Meanwhile when others failed they could sweep it under the rug. Virtual Boy — nbd. Philips CDI — who cares. If Sega had released Super Scope 6 they’d have been raked over the coals for the next decade. And they were smart bc they waited a year to release Dreamcast in the west. It had so many fuckin’ games on release which totally dissipated the negative brand equity. That’s what happened irl. But then Fight Club came out on dvd…. |
