1. Hold back as much funds as possible until project is complete. Contractor finish work on average is absolute dogshit and they drag their feet with the proper finishes.
2. Do not do any carveouts from the GC with preferred vendors or family. The GC and the vendor or family member ends up pointing the fingers at each other and you end up having to babysit and mediate a couple of preschool toddlers, which is annoying as fuck. The GC must be responsible for everything.
