bizarre that no organized anti-war movement seems to exist, à la Iraq 2003

no one actually cares about (post-vietnam) foreign wars. they never did. it's always been a performative thing for weak-minded, rudderless people to rally around to feel an artificial sense of solidarity and self-righteousness
our society has such massive domestic problems that we're in a soft civil war right now, and have been for quite a while now. the notion that any regular american actually gives a shit about anything happening overseas, thousands of miles away, to people who they have zero personal connection to, is utterly absurd
obviously, this goes "both ways" - the people who want war with iran, china, russia, etc don't give a shit about those people either. they're just self-interested and so they lie in order to try to get these wars to happen/be supported. but everyone is aware that those guys are full of shit, while they give "anti-war" charlatans the benefit of the doubt and assume that they sincerely believe about the well-being of some essentially imaginary person(s) on the other side of the planet
