And I said who is that (oops No. 1). Then she told me she was the little girl in New Orleans and that she was really brave to be the only black girl at an all white school. And then I asked her to imagine if she had to do that. And she said, yeah it’d be like if I was the only white girl and I went to an all black school. And I said, “yeah, you’d have to be really brave to do that.”
I kind of immediately froze and looked around one woman was definitely giving me a stink eye. |
