Santa Fe is 172 in that it looks different from other cities in the U.S.

unique architecture style with the adobe and the city passed an ordinance that no one can build skyscrapers

every other small city in "America" has even worse-looking strip malls surrounding the same-looking urban center

It’s all upscale chains and art galleries in adobe style, four old buildings and a billion boomers. So far the least interesting part of NM.

great place for that except somehow they still have shitty healthcare. you'd think a place full of rich old people would be better at it but it's abysmal. are they willing to see doctors in denver or dallas?

Isn't that where Gene Hackman died a few months back? Boomers and celebs are the only ones who can afford that place.

fair but it's still a cool place. beautiful landscape and weather, unique architecture in the city center, actual history. hits way above its weight in arts and dining. but yeah, everyone is old as fuck and everything closes at 9. and despite it's arts bent, it has very little creativity (it's 90% the same silver turquoise indian jewerly and bland southwestern clothes and paintings). there are some outliers but at the end of the day the target market is basic UMC white texans LARPing in a western for the weekend. it's no place for a young person but whatever they can't afford it anyway.

Top 5: White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, driving through the landscapes, Nuclear Science Museum ABQ and a toss up between int’l UFO Museum Roswell and Los Alamos History Museum.

This isn't really true. Breaking bad is the only thing that placed it on many people's radars. Unless you are boomer you aren't thinking about Santa Fe.

It was a boomer colony 20 years ago, too. Very much someplace you moved to retired after you’d made your money. No middle class jobs, just the rich and the poor. ALB has always felt like a dirty city. Red River and Taos are nice, I suppose.

Do you know the story of Truth or Consequences?
