Empires of the Sea by Crowley. It’s easy read narrative popular history, not scholarship. Nice deep dives into the big battles of the theater the book is focused on.

The whole idea of thousands of catholic European fisherman being stolen from villages to be either galley slaves for men or sex slaves for women is particularly harsh.
