There are only two cashier stations, but usually neither one is manned because everyone uses the app or kiosk. If someone waits there, a cashier will come out from the kitchen to take the order and then go back in. The kitchen workers are all behind a big wall that has a couple shelves in it and they just put each order on the shelf and call the number.

All orders come "to go" in bags but you can grab a tray if you want. No drink machines. Most of the space in the store is empty space to just stand there and wait for your order to get put on the shelf. At least half the people there waiting are Doordash/delivery workers. There are still a couple tables and bar stools near the front.

it's just not worth it to these places to allow undesirables inside their businesses. even without the undesirables, i would guess they're no more than breaking even on the cost of maintaining a foot traffic lobby with everything that goes along with it

anecdotally, a high-traffic mcdonalds in my area just remodeled its building to shrink the lobby by like 80% and is now using that space as an expanded kitchen and employee area. i expect to see this same thing gradually be implemented everywhere, and ultimately the foot traffic lobbies will be closed entirely
