Because Splendor (1999) has a great shoegaze soundtrack but the movie is incredibly faggy
It's about this girl who is dating two different guys. Instead of choosing between the two of them, she said she wanted to be with both of them. And the guys agree. And eventually all 3 of them move in together and basically be a triad. And this flick is primarily a comedy, and it gets more slapstick as it goes on.
It's a pretty bad movie. But again, a great soundtrack.
