Aircraft incident prompts emergency response at Bangor Airport

BANGOR, Maine — Crews are responding to the Bangor International Airport for an incident that happened around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the airport.

The airport asked people to avoid the area in a social media post around 8:30 p.m. The airport is currently closed.

Information was not immediately available, but officials said it was an incident involving an aircraft.

A source briefed on the incident told CNN that a private jet with eight people on board had crashed. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

The plane is a Bombardier Challenger 650 business jet, according to CNN.

Maine State Police are assisting Bangor police, a spokesperson said.

According to NEWS CENTER Maine meteorologist Ryan Breton, at 8 p.m. Sunday in Bangor, it was about -12 degrees out and lightly snowing. Visibility was about 3/4 of a mile.

If you watch videos on YouTube documenting small plane crashes, like 90 percent of them are dipshits flying into shit weather because they just have to get somewhere and think nothing ever happens, so what's the risk?
