"Transgender Ideology" is a far-right-wing conspiracy theory [2] employed as a key element of the racist, misogynistic, neo-Nazi "Make America Great Again"[3] movement from 2016-2024 which held that teachers, administrators, medical professionals, and democratic politicians[4] supported programs, policies, and an ideology holding that men and women, including minors, could choose to identify as a sex or gender other than which with they were born.[5] In 2025, Media Matters and the Southern Poverty Law Center published a report debunking Transgender Ideology's claims and documented its origin as having arisen with conspiratorial podcasters, including Alex Jones.
