My father asked how much I made 1099 and apparently I will owe tax. What's a good car in Miami if I don't plan to use it much , except occasional drive to key biscayne, etc. Porsche cayenne? Panamera? And needs to be 100% write off for business

I thought electric cars don't start if u leave them unattended for a few months? And generally faggy. Also just read max deduction for suv is 31k + 40% of remaining cost.

As long as you leave your EV plugged in, you can leave it unattended for as long as you want. Now if you left it unplugged for six months, you might have a problem, because it will slowly lose charge over time.

I'm pretty sure that the IRS standard is that you can only write off a car 100% if it is used exclusively for business and that buying a car is "ordinary and necessary" to perform this business. I'm not sure how you plan to justify a car as a business expense while you sit at home answering calls for Teladoc.

Travel between work sites means that you are a landscaper driving between several different homes. It doesn't mean a doctor answering the phone in different coffee shops when you can answer the phone at home. Remember the standard is "ordinary and necessary." If it is not necessary, it is not deductible. Feel free to try, but don't be surprised when you get audited.

They will say that it is a commuting cost, which is not deductible. The only people who can deduct cars are landscapers or HVAC technicians or people whose job literally requires them to drive to a bunch of different places every day. Even then, you can only use the car for work if you want to deduct 100% of it. If you also use it for trips to the grocery store or the gym, then you have to keep a log of every time you drive the car, and you can only deduct the proportion of the driving that you do for work. If you try to buy an expensive car and tell the IRS that you need it to travel to the hospital in California, enjoy repaying the entire deduction with heavy penalties and interest. And that's if you are lucky and they don't bring criminal charges for tax fraud.

It has to weigh over 6,000 lbs to get bonus depreciation. And you are subject to recapture if you sell it before 5 years. So I’d get something classic looking that you’re happy keeping for 5 years. That’s why people recommend a G-Wagen. You might also buy an X5 or X7. Just make sure to check the spec to ensure the GVWR is over 6,000.

Yeah I don't think gwagon would make any sense. It costs like a condo in Spain. If I get a used Porsche cayenne I might just use it for 5 years and then throw it out. Pay 60k of which get about 20k back in taxes.

So the 4runner I saw today had a wheel (I suppose it's decoratory) at the back of its window, which made it stand out. But the ones I see advertised online do not have that wheel and pictures look very plain.. that's also why I don't like lexus it looks very plain.

The one most likely to buy off carvana is 4runner sport. It doesn't have that back wheel. I know that lexus, porsche, etc is quieter. I don't even drive a car much and just don't want to do any maintenance besides annual oil change. Occasionally I may drive to NY or cross country once a year and I wouldn't really care what car I use, but the only somewhat useful feature would be to be able to sleep inside and put my bicycle inside. But chances are I would sleep in a hotel anyway. Basically the only reason to buy a car now is to do a little write off. I also got my hospitals to push about 60k in revenue to January.

It probably a "sport" model that has run-flats. Avoid.

EDIT; I misread. If it has a spare it does NOT have run flats, so you should buy it
