A US Park Police officer was injured in a shooting in Southeast D.C. on Monday, officials said.
US Park Police confirmed Monday that a US Park Police officer had been taken to a nearby hospital after a shooting around 7:30 p.m. near 5046 Queens Stroll Place SE.
The DC Police Union said the officer was in critical condition.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that officers were in the 5100 block of Queens Stroll Place SE for a shooting and that no MPD officers were injured.
MPD closed the following streets for the response:
5000 through 5100 Block of Queens Stroll Pl SE 5000 Block of Benning Rd SE from H St to Southern Ave SE1 4600 Block of Hillside Rd SE from Benning Rd to 46th St SE
The roads were closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. |
