In truth, Mr. Putin's War is a really stupid war that serves as an object lesson why World War 3 is a bad idea. Russian tanks won't be rolling to the English Channel anytime soon when they can't even fight their way through the suburbs of Kiev. Russia is a paper bear w/nukes.

Like it or not, Putin has already forced World War Three upon us. The sooner we come to grips with it, the better our chances. This problem, like so many of our problems, won't disappear by pretending it isn't happening.

Putin is inviting more Muslims in to Russia. He's now inviting mercenaries from Syria and the Central African Republic to fight for him in Ukraine.

It's almost as if Putin is following the Logic of Empire that a Persian emperor in 490 BC would have obeyed rather than nationalism
