I just don't think there's as much trickle down from it as there used to be as the money that the state puts into it goes to a much smaller pool of hands than it did in the 40s and 70s and the general benefit to the economy is probably less than the general loss from fears, war bearishness, and the loss of confidence from extra-national economic partners
