To be fair,
Damn, sounds like Tesla is COOKED as a company.
When will TSLA fall to sub-$100, do you think? AFAIK it's been three years since this thread was made, and TSLA soared up to hit a new ATH a few weeks ago... but surely 2026 will be the year it all comes crashing down though, right?

To be fair,
I think "sales of new cars" figures will literally become mathematically irrelevant to Tesla's market cap and profitability within the next few years if Tesla's FSD Cybercab/Robotaxi model scales up the way it seems poised to right now.
You probably think that stuff is a total scam which will ultimately go nowhere, and at the end of the day Tesla is and will always remain just another car company trying to get people to buy new cars.
Guess we'll see who's right!

LJL. Tesla is going to make so much money from robotaxis that car sales won't even matter. Even though their "robotaxis" have safety drivers, work only in a small section of Austin, and crash at 4x the rate of humans. Meanwhile, Waymo is available in far more cities, and it is far safer than human drivers. And while Zoox is only available in Vegas, it doesn't have safety drivers, and it also doesn't crash. (It should also be noted that both Waymo and Zoox are massively in the red, and neither of them has a clear path to profitability.) But somehow Elon is going to figure out a way to make the robotaxis stop crashing and clean themselves and justify TSLA's sky high valuation. Sounds like a good investment to me.

To be fair,
"Even though their 'robotaxis' have safety drivers"
>>> As of about a month ago, nope. Tesla is currently operating several dozen robotaxis on the streets of Austin with no safety drivers in them. That's a pretty neat trick for a pile of steaming bullshit fake scam tech that "everyone knows" is "only" a "Level 2" lane assist, especially since "the experts all agree" that FSD can't even really work right in the first place without LIDAR and Tesla doesn't use any LIDAR! But admittedly...
"They work only in a small section of Austin"
>>> Actually, right now, Waymo (which soft launched in Austin way back in 2023) is still only covering a mere ~140 square miles, while Tesla (which soft launched in Austin just a few months ago) is already up to ~170 miles and has been expanding its coverage rapidly. IMO it's a little weird how people who love to shit on Tesla for (currently) being geofenced also love to dickride Waymo despite the fact that Waymo is literally more tightly constrained by geofencing than Tesla... but putting all of that aside, even I have to admit that...
"They crash at 4x the rate of humans"
>>> Well, actually, funny thing about those terrifying 'crashes' and that horrifying 'crash rate'...

Any other devastating points you wanted to raise in here, my Jewish friend?
Also just FYI, if your sidebar comments about "Zoox" (lmao) and other competitors running in the red was intended to imply that the whole "robotaxi" thing isn't going to becoming a MASSIVELY popular and INSANELY profitable industry within the next decade, then that implication is by far the dumbest thing you said in your entire poast by a wide margin. Just so you're aware of that. LJL.

Did anyone think that the Chinese government would let Tesla take over in China?

Which was always a risk. In general, playing in Emerging Markets is a complicated game, and I say this as a former expat lawyer. Everyone knows that if you go in in China that you really should have a local partner. If you don't and you have local competitors then the government will work to suppress your company in favor of the local competitors. That's what is happening with Tesla. That said, the China Gigafactory doesn't just produce for China.

Which defeats a significant part of the draw of owning a Tesla.

I don't think that's true. BYD's "God's eye" self-driving software is available in China. Not only is it superior to Tesla's FSD, the base version is free. BYD is going to rape the anus of every American automaker (including Tesla) once it is allowed into the U.S.

To be fair,
"Not only is it superior to Tesla's FSD..."
LMAO
Out of curiosity, since you seem to be a real expert on this topic and you're extremely confident in this assessment, how much time have you actually spent over in China experiencing BYD's FSD tech directly?
I myself have admittedly never driven a BYD, but here's the funny thing: back in September, analysts at Piper Sandler who make money by trying to accurately assess the relative strengths of different companies traveled over to China specifically to do that, and when they came back to America, they had become *extremely* bullish on Tesla:
https://www.thestreet.com/automotive/tesla-stock-forecast-reset-by-analysts-after-visiting-china
Here's the exact money quote btw:
"The firm sees Tesla’s artificial intelligence as light-years ahead of its competitors in China."
But I'm sure that you also have a lot of firsthand experience with BYD's "superior" FSD tech and I can't wait to hear more about it, brother! ;)
