The documentary is about how Joseph Campbell's Heroes' Journey and following one's passion (what Campbell called "bliss") leads to unexpected opportunities that wouldn't exist if one just did the normal life route.
It's a good message, but it's not a good documentary; it's too didactic, it's too feel-good, it doesn't focus enough on the risks involved within the journey. plenty of people fail -- it's easy to take the most successful people who succeeded on their journeys and then do a documentary only about them; it leads to a very skewed, one-sided picture. Therefore the documentary at it's core contains a false note, imo. It would have been interesting instead of pushing a message to delve into the more complicated issues on the topic, failure just like success.
Also, the kids used in the documentary were off-putting and the music was too saccharine uplifting.
Still, it does make me want to read this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1577314719/
