For starters, Israel apparently dropped thermobarics on what it claimed were Hezbollah tunnels all summer. They weren't allowed to use 500-2klb bombs on Gaza for about 5-6 months after March, so they were trying to soften up the Lebanese border instead.
I assumed it was effective and didn't even check on the situation till I noticed IDF were bombing Lebanese cities but were still afraid to send troops over the border. I figured after 20 weeks of bombing such a small region, surely it's safe to go in now

Man, I don't see any exposed tunnels here at all. Israel didn't even knock down buildings. Furthermore Hezbollah already knows anyone coming through that area will have to use that road. Imagine the USA broadcasting what route its troops will take through Fallujah
