Totally wasn't in it.
Even Michael Moore was deflated. I usually look forward to his election season prognostications but he was so half-assed this year.
8 years ago he wrote an epic op-ed about how union guys in Michigan were going to vote for Trump it was like a shot heard round the world moment. He literally predicted Trump would win before anyone on the left.
Then in 2020 he went full TDS ranting and raving about how Trump was an evil genius who was going to remake the world into Nazi Germany and we would all fall down the slippery slope if we didn't vote for Biden. It was truly inspired over the top.
This year though he stayed out of the limelight and then a few days before the election he was just like Trump sucks I'm predicting Kamala will win. It was so low energy compared to his usual insanity. Sad!

carville and clinton too, going back to 2016. they told the party exactly what they needed to do to win, and the party didn't listen.
now, the administrative state is going to be utterly demolished as a result. that's directly traceable to trump winning in 2016 and getting to put the right people in the judiciary. and roe is gone, etc. lol at dems being so stupid.
i've seen carville's commentary recently and i notice youtube commenters bashing him because "just last week he was saying kamala would win, he's a hypocrite." no, he is a partisan and he wanted the D to win, so of course he said all that. but he went right back to speaking the truth after. the party needs to put him in a position of power or at least engage him as a consultant because they're going to keep getting owned if they don't change.

they fucked up by not taking Obama and his tent full of circus freaks seriously in 2007.
not understanding their opponent until it is too late seems to be a recurring issue for these two dudes.

don't have too much of a problem with 90s libs like carville and clinton. i wouldn't vote for them over MAGA or even GOPe, but they are not as ruinous and hateful as the current woke lib party.
but they didn't just let their party get usurped from them, they went along with it. the biggest problems libs have is that they refuse to criticize themselves or go against their own party. i remember biden doing the "at least three genders" shit in 2020. they don't get to unring that bell. they own it.
the base isn't really responsible but they aren't being "held to account" for anything. they were put in a tough spot between woke bullshit and maga. some didn't vote. some even voted for trump. but what else can the voters do individually?

Ezra Klein is onto something. How do you reform a party that's completely captured by a small group of elites? If all Dems did was abolish superdelegates and promise to have a primary the party would shift radically towards the populist left. The grandees won't let that happen. The party isn't about you, the voter. It's about them.
It's just like that meme about how he average lib is a barista with a PhD who identifies with George Clooney. It's Clooney's party, you're not really a part of it. You're there to help these people carry on with their agenda.
Reform seems insane at this point and as many have said the plan isn't to do any soul searching but rather to tweak the formula ever so slightly and hope people are sick of Trump in 4 years. It's not going to materially improve.
