i represented a chain of nursing homes in CA owned by an indian lady, and she sold one of the nursing homes to another indian lady. there are NLRB rules that govern successor liability when there's an asset sale of a unionized company. i advised the buyer (she hired me) of these rules. she ignored everything and just acted like the union wasn't there. changed all kinds of shit. the SEIU obviously filed charges, which were indefensible. she then told me "my friend, please negotiate good settlement." i told her she'd fucked herself and she should have listened to me. she fired me and hired a guy at littler who died a few months later. i remember talking to him after she fired me and telling him to get a retainer and that i hadn't been fired by a client yet but was good with this one. she contacted me after the littler guy died and asked me to work with her again and i never responded.
these fucking people are something, man.
someone poasted this recently, but indians have a word to refer to how they act in business - they view trickery and cheating someone as an achievement and they use it as currency.
oh, also the first nursing home owner broad got investigated by the DOJ and had to pay like tens of millions in fines. medicare fraud, i guess. and her husband was apparently a bollywood star, lol. her email signature said "everyone please be safe and wear mask" |
