Haiti's economy is almost entierly knitted goods

https://oec.world/en/profile/country/hti

Total Exports in 2022: $1.28 Billion

Total Exports in 2022: (textiles & footwear and headwear excluded): $154 million

41.9% of Haiti's entire economy is just knit t-shirts (59.4% if you include knit t-shirts & sweaters)

Haiti's economy is very rough

Dominican Republic has a MUCH more robust, much more diversified economy, with an export economy more than 10x the size ($13.8b), with their largest individual export being medical instruments (12.5%) followed by gold (10.5%), followed by Rolled Tobacco (8.06%)

The populations of the two countries is almost the same. What explains the Dominican Republic's relative strength? This is an easy question, actually. All of Haiti's problems are caused by the debt imposed on it two hundred years ago by France

LJL.

Not remotely the same.

Avg Dominican is like 50% SSA.

They are too ugly for sex tourism to be a growth industry. That's the real tragedy.
