All the decisions are coming from higher ups who dgaf about gaming. Phil is Gen X so he has no self respect and hasn’t resigned. They are hard pivoting away from things that don’t make money, or which don’t make enough money (consoles) and focusing on Publishing and Cloud. They’re going to fail to grow share but they’ll be profitable. Netflix/streaming works bc Films are 2 hours long. Every single fucking video game now is as long as a season or 5 of TV. It makes no sense to have access to 1000k games imo.
A couple of things Destroyed them:
1. Starfield being a complete pos and btw this was 8 years after Fallout 4. This was all they did for 8 years not counting Fallout 76. And this is bc Todd is Short. You need to be Tall to manage Products.
2. Going through with the activision blizzard merger with no ability to make games exclusive even if they wanted to. This would’ve raped Sony. If you like Playatation, thank the democratic caucus |
