Some things are forgotten for a reason. They sound like a punk band who just discovered Nirvana but didn't get it all the way. They're in between genres but it's really not good enough to be memorable.

I assume you’re aware that the replacements were around long before nirvana and influenced them?

I’m kinda with you. There are some replacements songs I really like, but I never really loved them. Tommy gets his tonsils out is 180.

They're tweeners. In between major genres but not genres defining. Television is another one. Some of these you can't put your finger on it guys they had some really groundbreaking ideas but the finished product doesn't move anyone. Obviously they influenced alternative but if they were bigger they would have been the Pixies or something.

the replacements influenced a bunch of bands. are you suggesting that the replacements weren't influential because they didn't get big? if so, then explain the velvet underground, who probably sold a total of 50,000 records during the entire time they were a band.

No I'm not saying that at all. You can be influential but not be very listenable.

VU is actually still listenable today I'm sure they've sold a lot more records since then.

strong list. The Ledge is 180. a real whiff of the 80s. you can smell the skeevy suburban mall arcades and latchkey kid angst.

Can't Hardly Wait started out as a Tim demo, yes, but was raised to sublimity by the later re-arrangement w/ the Alex Chilton lead guitar part -- then promptly ruined by the addition of the tasteless horns/strings.

the no-horns version is goat, imo.
