The current top-tier models are Gemini 1.5 Pro and Flash [1].
The "Gemini in Chrome" likely uses the same underlying technology as the app. However, Google Chrome’s built-in AI features are often optimized for browsing tasks like summarizing pages or writing emails [2].
To help you see how Gemini in Chrome could be useful, would you like me to show you some examples of how it can help with browsing tasks?

GPT objectively has superior legal reasoning and output ability vs Gemini, but takes much more effort at prompting to unlock the magical reasoning sauce in realtime vs getting back "recorded responses" pulled off the shelf instantaneously.
But getting good GPT responses not only takes more effort to learn and execute prompts, its own thinking takes more time to output too. If you use Pro over deep thinking it's like doing deep thinking 100 times and synthesizing the best answer.
Tl/dr: Gemini vs GPT is like learning to ski in 1 hour vs learning to snowboard down a halfpipe in a few days but doing 100 tricks at the same time
