During the pandemic, Seattle mandated hazard pay for grocery workers.
Kelly, however, now treats it as permanent. Every week, she files “workplace hazard” complaints to keep the premium rolling.
Today, she reported the “emotional toll” of dealing with a customer who didn’t wear deodorant. Last week, it was “psychological trauma” from a child spilling apple juice. HR just nodded, saying, “These claims are protected, Evan.”
Meanwhile, Kelly racked up $4 in hazard pay while I spent my shift cleaning up an actual biohazard in aisle 7.
Sprayed the area down, muttered, “Yes, friend. This is fine.”
