The other day you said you’re into Romantic composers generally- Are you familiar with Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini? It’s a symphonic poem based on the historic figure Francesca da Rimini, who was immortalized in Dante’s Inferno for cheating on her cruel husband with his brother. Tchaikovsky was inspired by her story and composed this as a symphonic re-telling.
Ime, this is a piece of his music that’s often overshadowed by his more famous works and not very well known.
