He watches me every shift. Tonight, he left a note. (Evan39)

I first noticed him a few weeks ago. Always during my shift, always the same routine: he’d wander the aisles, never buying anything, just watching. His eyes would follow me as I stocked shelves or bagged groceries.
I told myself it was nothing. People are weird. But then he started getting bolder—standing closer, lingering at the end of whatever aisle I was in. He never spoke. Just stared.
Tonight, after my shift, I walked to my car and saw it. A folded piece of paper tucked under my windshield wiper. My hands were shaking as I opened it.
“$ee you soon, friend.”
I looked around the empty parking lot, heart pounding, but he was nowhere to be seen. Drove home in silence, locked every door, and sat in the dark. Whispered to myself, “Yes, friend. This is fine.”
