But when I think about how little I knew and how bad I was even 10 years in it’s kind of scary. If medicine is anything like law I don’t want any 30 year old doctor within 100 yards of me.

doctors get hazed for 4-6 years so they actually learn their shit before getting released into the wild. that's the whole point of residency

They apparently broke the residency system and now attendings don’t teach and for litigation reasons residents and even fellows aren’t allowed to do shit but grunt work and we now have surgeons who finish fellowship who still can’t operate by themselves and need two years after fellowship before their department chairs let them solo. It’s actually a giant clusterfuck .

i sometimes wonder how i'd do if i re-did 1L. i'll always remember the model answer in conlaw and it was completely fucking ridiculous, like something a historian would write over several months. i still can't do that, that's for sure.

i wonder the same. im a much better writer than i was but otoh my head is full of actual law so it might be hard to write about fake ass law school law. on balance i think id do even better because i didn't have an adderall script in law school

ofs addy alone is a huge boost. i started using it 2L and did much better. impossible to study 8 hours a day without it.

can you go into some of the main differences between your thinking now and before? What are some concrete examples of how your lawschool self would have approached something and how that's worse then your current self.
