I'm becoming increasingly sensitive to caffeine

Date: October 4th, 2025 2:21 PM Author: peach pontificating police squad dilemma I love caffeine. I used to drink 2-3 coffees a day. But recently things changed. The coffee I've been drinking is so good (and so strong) that my body started reacting with palpitations and anxiety. I tried slowing down, taking breaks, skipping a day, then just having 2 shots the next. But even that wasn't enough. I get headaches and my heart is just beating way faster even after 24 hours without having had any coffee.
Now I'm afraid I'll only be able to drink coffee once or twice a week at most, and only a single shot. Coffee has always been my biggest pleasure in life, and it feels like God is spitting in my face with this new development.
Anyone else dealing with this issue? I know quite a few people who gave up coffee for one reason or another, but srsly, I was not planning on being one of them, ever. |

It has a small amount of caffeine so once u adapt u still get a little stim increase but its not a ton which upsets ur stomach, makes u jittery, etc etc. |

It makes me incredibly anxious if I have more than that one cup, and my sleep is fucked if I have some in the afternoon. People forget it has a pretty long half-life. I don't even have caffeine before workouts because the anxiety and jitteriness persists for hours after I finish my workouts. I'm so sensitive to it that I notice a difference when I have just 1.25 cups of coffee instead of one cup in the morning. I'm talking about macchiatos in Italy, not in other parts of Europe, where the coffee is more like what you find in the U.S. These macchiatos are real caffeine bombs. It was 180... until it wasn't. |
