And any year models that are defective and best to avoid?
I keep looking here in Miami I see occasional 4runner buy they are rare. Much more frequent to see porsche suv, Bentleys, and Mercedes and most drivers are 50yo jew women and young spics.

one of the most truck-like SUVs you can buy. bad ride, shitty mileage but excellent off road. considering you live in MIAMI and will never leave paved roads, it's a horrible car for you.
get a crossover. you seem like a porsche macan kind of guy

The Macan is for women. Any other Porsche is a better bet, though obviously more expensive.
4Runner is slow, bad on gas mileage, and will feel old. But reliable and the "old" stuff is part of its charm.
If you want bougie luxury SUV, better off getting an X5.

Compare this: buy used 4runner for 40k, depreciated in full. In 5 years decide to sell it for 25k, I will then have to pay 40% tax on that 25k. Alternatively never sell, but that means never getting another car..
If instead I buy 40k porsch cayenne. In 5 years I can just sell it for 5000cash and not pay any tax. The only question is whether it will run 5 years without any maintenance beyond oil change? Also cayenne vs cayenne coupe? Will a bicycle fit inside cayenne coupe? How about sleeping inside?

i bought a 2019 4runner back in 2022. i like it a lot. it was fucking expensive tho. $55k i think.
my only real complaint is the 2019 was the model before they started putting in bigger screens. mine isn't compatible with apple car play. i might get a new screen installed, or just upgrade to a newer 4runner.
