if you're just in it for a paycheck, ok with knowing you're not as successful as your peers (and the people that came after you, and after them, and so on) that made partner, and dgaf anymore, this is a cr move. the work and job generally just gets easier every time you do this

there are all sorts of rules, which is why you have to lateral and give up a few class years every now and then. i'm a sixth year but i've been practicing for 17 years

What if I topped out as a 4th year in 2021 and haven’t really worked for more than a couple weeks at a time since then (I have a $300k inhouse sinecure)? Could I go back to being a 2nd year associate in a specialty practice like biglaw T&E or ERISA?
