LOLing at laudable goals like “free border, free bodies, free choice”. These people are so dumb it hurts. It says a lot that so many of these Weather Underground retards became college professors.

"Instead, Paul Thomas Anderson’s sprawling action thriller left me with fists balled in something approaching rage."

how did the humanities in academia rot?

"My parents, who in the years following settled into lives as (mostly) law-abiding college professors, aren’t sorry for what they did and would do it again, they both admitted, if they could be ’70s radicals, rather than radicals in their 70s or 80s."

Higher ups, we'll say members of the "Inner party" in the state, realized and tacitly admitted that they had a point and rewarded them with anesthetizing but comfortable jobs to curtail their radicalism

A lot of the WU/SDS radicals, even the violent ones, work cushy academic, trade union, or public-private sector linkage jobs. Similar case in Europe with left but, unlike the US, also right wing radicals

no. the DA was Chesa Boudin, whose weatherman parents were in jail so he was raised by the radicals who whispered in Obama's ears.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chesa_Boudin

===

Boudin was born in New York City to Jewish parents, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert. Boudin and Gilbert were Weather Underground members who, when Boudin was only 14 months old, were both arrested and later convicted of murder for their participation in the 1981 Brink's robbery in Rockland County, New York.[9] His mother was sentenced to 20 years to life, and his father to 75 years to life, both for the felony murders of two police officers and a security guard.[10][11]

After his parents were incarcerated, Boudin was adopted and raised in Hyde Park, Chicago, by fellow Weather Underground members Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.[12] Boudin reports that he did not learn to read until age nine.[13] Kathy Boudin was released under parole supervision in 2003, when Boudin was 23 years old.[14][15] Gilbert was released in 2021.[16]

Boudin descends from a long left-wing lineage. His great-grand-uncle, Louis B. Boudin,[17] was a Marxist theoretician and author of a two-volume history of the Supreme Court's influence on American government, and his grandfather Leonard Boudin was an attorney who represented controversial clients, such as Fidel Castro and Paul Robeson.[18] His grand-uncle Isidor Feinstein Stone ("I. F. Stone") was an independent progressive journalist.[17][19]

His uncle, Michael Boudin, was a well-regarded judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit[20] who did not share his family's penchant for leftism.[17] Boudin was appointed by George H.W. Bush.[21]

Weather Underground barely did anything. They bombed a few places then just collected money from their sponsors and issued communiques from the California beach house. Kill them all.

I think the idea with the more libertarian flavors of revolutionary is that you can structure the state in a certain way to prevent state tyranny after the wartime revolutionary body or party is no longer needed by the people

This was how many of the founders of this country thought
