There were no screens and many people slept outside for part of the year. It’s not surprising they would notice certain lights in the sky changing position

ancient aliens brought their universe knowledge to human astronomers through visions or dreams. And sometimes they just told them face to face, but becs aliens were so, well, alien, ancient astronomers likened them to being a vision/dream and not an actual daytime encounter but either way, the info was presented and recieved.
