And, the taxes only ever go up. With how juiced the economy is and how much inflation there is, the tax rates shouldn't need to go up given that the amounts being taxed are going up so much--for sales taxes and property taxes in particular. |

I didn’t really tell people anything, at first no one said anything cause people get laid off all the time so not working for a short time in a UMC suburb isn’t weird. Which I did, but no severance lasts three years or whatever it’s been now. I have a lot of prole acquaintances/family and they wouldn’t understand FIRE, they’d just think I was “rich” and they’d get jealous and/or ask for money. money is hard to make when you're young but the S&P500 invested 1990 dollar is worth like $40 now with dividends reinvested. So basically any Gen Xer who aced OCI and had $100k sitting around in 1990 is set for life now.
this is why bombing OCI is completely devastating. you can try to catch up but you're fucked. you have to be gifted with thrift, Clique, and GPA or else your net worth will be Ruined.
IOW, if you ace OCI, you should really maximize that shit. good luck compounds. that's just how it is. 99% of people don't ace OCI imho. |
