The information we have is the following without any editorialization:
- ICE office shoves woman - Pretti attempts to help her up - Officer pepper sprays Pretti - 6 or so officers tackle Pretti to the ground with some striking him - Pretti's weapon is taken by an officer - Officers shoot Pretti about 10 times killing him
My question is "why did the officer shove the woman?" Was she obstructing or doing anything that would warrant being assaulted? If not, then how can Pretti be criticized at all for attempting to help her? And even if he shouldn't have helped her, at the time he was shot, he had been restrained by a group of armed ICE agents and posed no risk of harm, much less a risk of lethal harm, to anyone. |
