Just VOO, I'm an American patriot. Exposure through the S&P500 is appropriate weighting in my book, I don't want to overweight any particular sector and technically my portfolio is already way overweight real estate since I own my house and a few rentals. Also sold a few kgs of silver near the December top and just held in HYSA since, looking for my next asset play. Crypto is calling my name but I'm not sure which way AI will push it yet - either skyrocket because agents need to spend, or stay flat to down because of some combination of compute supply constraints slowing the networks, quantum breaking the encryption, or who knows.

Nice. Yeah, crypto seems like a prime opportunity. It’s probably my own ignorance but it just seems like pure price arbitrage, still not convinced there’s any fundamental value here at all unlike AI.

My strongest bull case is that it's easier for an AI agent to obtain and spend in crypto vs fiat, but even that is weakening now that fintechs like Mercury are making controlled access credit cards you can just delegate to an agent to do a task.

I can see a world where truly micro transactions become commonplace, like websites charging a fraction of a fraction of a cent per pageview in exchange for no ads or to capture value from AI bot crawling. At the same time though, the infrastructure for this has been around since 2012 and nobody has actually done it yet.

65-70. It's funny, I hate working actually, but I had a lot of resentment in my late teens and early 20s about how my parents saved nothing, deliberately lived paycheck-to-paycheck, took no chances, etc., and how far behind I was compared to my peers who had everything (college, grad school, cars) handed to them. So I decided I wouldn't only not be poor for myself, but I couldn't do that to my kids. And so I still feel somewhat behind (no inheritances coming at all) but it's probably mostly psychological at this point. I just want my kids to be set up for success.

180^180 - you’re a good dood IMO, and it reminds me of how the older I get the more I appreciate my dad’s frugal WASP mindset of living within or even beneath his means (buying nice things but making them last forever, living in a modest home in a nice neighborhood etc), because it helped to give me and my siblings a lot less stress as we approach middle age, and emphasizes the deep underlying joy of paying it forward to the next generation 🙏
