reading retardo 20th C 'futurist' literature, it's just the dumbest, utter goofball shit, lol. embarrassing that nobody could extrapolate from contemporary experience in EU (bolshevism, weimar) and from past events (109 countries) what was actually bound to happen (was already happening).
instead, it was all, like, 'Max Headroom will be POTUS!'

orwell's predictions weren't bad, but he was a globohomo shitlib whose warnings in the book were essentially satanic revelation of the method
i tried reading brave new world and it was one of the most poorly written things ive ever tried reading

absurd position, his essays are better than his books
that being said he did have a weekly column so there's a lot of real mediocre installments, but his best are absolute top notch.

of course it's 'literature.' so was Raspail, whom you just brought up. so what? someone doesn't need to issue Nostradamus-like prophecies, complete w/ names and calendar dates, in order to be regarded as 'predictive'.
JG Ballard's fifty years' explicit commentary on 'the future' -- in fiction, essays, interviews, film -- was not some kind of meta-literary hoax in which he was AKSHULLY subverting the idea that the future could be predicted in any way, as an esoteric literary aesthetic, or whatever. that's ridiculous. his ideas/themes were broadly predictive, and he said so repeatedly.

William Gibson and cyberpunk in general was pretty accurate.
Gene Roddenberry saw a world where the races are integrated and countries are disbanded under the Federation of planets. Maybe that’s where we’re headed. There’s nothing to do anymore except try to build starships afaict.

the real answer to the OP is that none of these guys were actually very intelligent or insightful, just like pretty much everybody in the world, outside of a tiny % of outliers
there's a generation of people (boomers) who have lived through this entire saga and have experienced it directly with their own senses and experience, and the vast majority of these people *still* don't get it. these are people who were born into 95% white america in the 1950s and who have lived through it all: 95% white, christian utopia, the blatant attack on and undermining of this society in the 70s, forced integration and the civil rights act, the hart-cellar act of 1965 and decades of brown foreign invasion, jewish neocons orchestrating middle east war after middle east war for israel, countless acts of collective black hatred of whites like the OJ simpson trial, rodney king, and BLM, and then the recent post-obama years of outright deranged shitlibbery like gay marriage, CRT, BLM, and brazen anti-trump corruption
even though these people have all lived through this entire saga and directly experienced it, if you put a gun to the average boomer's head and told them to extrapolate the future, these people would STILL be COMPLETELY CLUELESS about it. they would give you some kind of utterly asinine incoherent nonsense like, "common-sense centrism will win out in the end"
people are just hopelessly dumb. it's not just "authors" who are inexplicably clueless about their own field. the average professional "economist" or "doctor" wouldn't be able to give you a halfway sensible prediction of what the economy or medicine will look like 10 years from now

I think Huxley nailed it:
The constitutions will not be abrogated and the good laws will remain on the statute book; but these liberal forms will merely serve to mask and adorn a profoundly illiberal substance. ...We may expect to see in the democratic countries a reversal of the process which transformed England into a democracy, while retaining all the outward forms of a monarchy. ...By means of ever more effective methods of mind-manipulation, the democracies will change their nature; the quaint old forms — elections, parliaments, Supreme Courts and all the rest — will remain. The underlying substance will be a new kind of non-violent totalitarianism. All the traditional names, all the hallowed slogans will remain exactly what they were in the good old days. Democracy and freedom will be the theme of every broadcast and editorial — but democracy and freedom in a strictly Pickwickian sense. Meanwhile the ruling oligarchy and its highly trained elite of soldiers, policemen, thought-manufacturers and mind-manipulators will quietly run the show as they see fit.

WALLACE: And well, what…what do you mean? We developed our television but we don't know how to use it correctly, is that the point that you're making?
HUXLEY: Well, at the present the television, I think, is being used quite harmlessly; it's being used, I think, I would feel, it's being used too much to distract everybody all the time. But, I mean, imagine which must be the situation in all communist countries where the television, where it exists, is always saying the same things the whole time; it's always driving along. It's not creating a wide front of distraction. It's creating a one-pointed, …drumming in of a single idea, all the time. It's obviously an immensely powerful instrument.
WALLACE: Uh-huh. So you're talking about the potential misuse of the instrument.
HUXLEY: Exactly. We have, of course…all technology is in itself moral and neutral. These are just powers which can either be used well or ill; it is the same thing with atomic energy, we can either use it to blow ourselves up or we can use it as a substitute for the coal and the oil which are running out.

As someone above alluded to, never before in history has a political ideology been founded on self-hate and elevation of outsiders. It goes against all biological imperatives and self-interest.
Although more recent, The Camp of the Saints was somewhat prescient
