There's a reason. The 12th gens are crazy too. I paid $109 for a 12600 and now the cheapest you can find them on ebay is like $380. This happened in the space of about 2 weeks. I think I got the last i5-12600 at el cheapo prices. The 12600k is much cheaper and much easier to find than the non-k, despite being a "better" chip, but it's still well north of $200 now |

The 14600k boosts to 5.2ghz and single-threaded performance is nuts. The e-cores do 4Ghz and draw about 15W at idle. One thing people are starting to notice about AMD CPUs is that they have high idle power consumption compared to Intel, so that puts them at a disadvantage in any server build on consumer hardware
EDIT when I stress test this thing it does all p-cores at 4.9Ghz. Cinebench R23 scores tell the whole story. 14900k and 13900k still dominate the charts. |
