I just get plain cheeseburgers everywhere I go. Bacon or bbq sauce if I'm feeling decadent. Sometimes A1 if I'm at 5 guys

It's a good thing pretty much everywhere you can order a cheeseburger allows you to customize same to avoid pet peeves like pickles. I personally like my pickles by themselves, quartered or halved, but never sliced. I can see why some folks may be sliced pickle-mos, but not me. That being said, this is never a problem for me because you can just ask for your cheeseburger the way you like it.

Also Sprach disco fries

I don't have a problem with pickles being available. But why should pickle havers get it as the default? That should be an add on. They should have to fucking ask for pickles.

You sound like a dolt. Why should the cheese be a default, shouldnt that be an add-on? Some places have sliced pickles on the cheeseburger, some don't. The vast majority will accommodate you if you don't care for those sliced pickles.

My suggestion, stop worrying about why your preferences aren't the default option, and get some actual work done. Create something of value. Bring genuine joy to yourself and those around you. Don't waste your life on petty and trivial shit like "it is my perception that sliced pickle-mos get their way as a default when it comes to ordering a cheeseburger!"

There are reasons to have a mental breakdown, but this isn't one of them.

cheese is a fatty savory addition that perfectly complements a fatty beef patty, wtf are you doing comparing it to a fucking pickle

You have missed my point altogether. I have cast judgment, but only against those that would assume that "their way" is "the way." I was not attempting to qualify or rank burger add-ons or even express my own full opinions about burgers ITT.

FYI, I prefer a double patty, Colby cheese, red leaf lettuce, Roma tomato slices, red onion, on a toasted bun. I prefer two quarters of a full dill pickle on the side, but will settle for a halved pickle instead. I prefer potato chips or "crisps" to fries a/k/a "chips." Bottom line is it's gotta be crispy. Crispy fries/chips are okay, and maybe even preferable to chips/crisps under some circumstances-but that is mood based and I can't really say which is preferable when compared side-by-side in the abstract.

Are you 5 years old or something? Picky eaters tend to bitch about onions or mustard being a default... pickles are pretty unobjectionable

I agree that onion adds more flavor (when I do burgers at home, the toppings are always cheese, ketchup, and onions)

But raw onions can be excessively sharp sometimes, especially to picky eaters. Pickles are more consistently inoffensive

I'm not sure about mustard either. I don't necessarily mind it being a default I guess but it seems odd to me. Mustard is for hotdogs. And I dont like ketchup and mustard mixing. Just too much going on.

I think pickles for me personally may be more of a texture thing. I'm not a huge fan of grilled onions for this reason too. I like the sharp taste of raw onion but also the crunch adds something nice texturally. I hate shit making my burger all soggy like pickles.

I had Wendy's tonight and the pickles were really fucking good. I'm not quite sure what was different about them, maybe a tad more crisp and sweet than usual, but they were really fucking good

McDonalds is the worst when it comes to pickles. Sometimes they put too many on, other times they put the correct quantity on but just leave them in a clump, so you end up with one bite that has way too much pickle
