It looks ridiculous this year because (i) there are two shitty conference bids because 5 loss Duke won the ACC championship instead of Miami/FSU/Clemson so the ACC lost their spot and (ii) the two teams just aren't that compelling. Last year you just a Boise St team here that did okay. |

But they dropped Ohio State for losing.
Even more importantly, they dropped BYU for losing its game.
Because that allowed them to move Miami up a spot - and then put Miami and Notre Dame next to each other, which means now they have to put Miami above Notre Dame because Miami beat them at home by 3 points the first game of the season.
