Any genuine political beliefs or goals that they have are always going to be secondary to getting as much attention and engagement as possible. And the way to get attention and engagement is to "feud" and have "drama" with other people
These people aren't even necessarily bad faith or dishonest actors, although most of them are. This is just the way that the world currently works
The only way we are ever going to have a political movement that could enact real consequential change is if the possibility arises for ambitious people to gain more from actually destroying the current system than they do from integrating themselves into it. Or if legit irrational religious fanatics emerge. Both of which are extremely unlikely and it would require either of these groups of people to be extraordinarily capable and brave compared to everyone else today |
