My F250 has been able to cut our outside counsel budget steadily over the last 10 years or so, from like $15M down to $9M (excluding insurance reimbursable work). In house headcount has increased (so I don’t know if we actually saved money in the end). We have three firms that do work for us at a blended rates of $650-$750. We only pay full rack rates on a few selective matters.
