1. Nothing ever happens. There will be talk and saber rattling, then Powell won't be charged, his resolve will be hardened, and the Fed will keep doing what it does.
2. If Trump does oust Powell and replace him with a sycophant to do his bidding (he won't, but if he did), in the short and medium term, a rate cut would juice stocks. (The longer term issues of political rate cuts would be problems for another day.) |
