After the case settled, my son required surgery to fix his eyes (he was made cross eyed from the trauma) which cured it, but he will not need surgery from his skull fracture.

Most people don't have $700k+ that is easily collectible. And they people that do would negotiate, especially if they're an at-fault family member that probably wants to actually make things right.
You know what happened. Either the kid got a booboo and they tipped a scamdoc to say they're X, Y, and Z to scam an insurance company. Or the kid was legitmately injured and they won (unlikely considering the coyness and the firm, but who knows) |
