Germany has proposed raising the retirement age to 73 to prevent the collapse of the pension system, per Reuters

Angela Merkel thought that Middle Eastern immigrants would replace German workers who have retired but the just opposite happened! Instead of paying German 🇩🇪 pensions they are costing unprecedented sums of social security payments! The chart shows this clearly - Germany is lost!

No, it's just some advisory committee that came up with that plan to gradually raise it to 73 by the year 2060. An economic minister proposed raising it to 70, and that created a firestorm in and of itself and I seriously doubt the SPD in the coalition will go along with even 70.

Funny how 95% of the breathless tweets about Germany turn out to be false.

Every Western nation is facing a collapse in their pension system due to an aging population. Social security's fiscal cliff is set for around 2032. But that doesn't change the fact that the tweet grossly mis-characterizes the German plan that some committee came up with to make changes by 2060.
