sorta feel like it was SPS too when i had it in past, in 2022 it even lost 13% which is insane
GSY or SGOV are better prob
i only bought cause since rates will go down BND usually goes up

Just buy 4 or 8 week treasury bills and keep rolling them over
That way you never have to wait long if you need the $ or decide you want to do something else with it
Been doing this since interest rates went up a couple years ago

Value of a bond fund can always go down as the poaster noted above and you’ve experienced with BND
granted it’s less of an issue for short term stuff but there still can be fluctuation plus with any fund there is some expense they are passing to you
With an actual bond you will get what you signed up for barring default, and you don’t have to sweat interest rate changes cause you’re holding to maturity (and you can resell individual bonds if you really want to, just more hassle than a fund)
