None of the companies with speculative AI plans are public or likely to become public anytime soon. Hell OpenAI is private and has something like 850MM monthly active users.
And unlike dot coms, AI is quickly affecting hiring decisions and work companies already do.
If you’re on twitter of instagram and you’ve seen the absolute flood of videos made with Sora this week, you know that is going to completely change the advertising and entertainment industries. Can you imagine not having to pay actors for stupid commercials, or video production units that are crazy expensive? You could make a prime time quality tv ad that companies used to spend a million dollars filming for $5k or less, and in minutes rather than weeks.
My employer has teams of people whose job it is to analyze new laws and regulations. That shit can be summarized in seconds now and reviewed by 1-2 people now. And that’s pre-AGI.
