If you complete 18 holes of golf scoring 86 or less 365 days in a row, you will receive $10M tax free.

You must tee off from the men's tees.

You must play at least 20 different courses as part of the challenge during the 365 day period for it to count.

Only courses of average or above quality, length, and difficulty count.

A rules official will follow you to make decisions and assess penalty strokes as appropriate.

You can restart the hypo as many times as you like. The offer is open for life. But, you still need 365 consecutive days.

You can restart each day's round as often as you like.

Are you in? Do you quit work and start golfing full time now?

No. It's up to you to pay for and procure tee times, clubs, etc.

The only things provided to you by the hypo are the rules official and the $10M if you complete the hypo.

Are you in?

Weather really is the biggest constraint. Arizona is better for the hypo in this case. Florida would have washout days where you'd have to quickly fly somewhere else.

You would have to be a ~scratch golfer to card 365 straight rounds at 86 or better, even playing the whites at an average 68-69 course rating / 125 slope rating sort of course. The ability to end and re-start rounds is good in theory, but is subject to tee time availability. Even if we assume you have 2 rounds booked every day, probably need to be 3ish handicap to have a shot at 365 straight days of 1 round of 86 or better.

Dang. Let's assume you can grease the wheels and asses of the course people to let you restart without worrying about tee times. If it was ur full time job, and you have a "home course" that you'll play on 345 of the days, you don't think you could do that with just being good, not great? Is golf so faggot that a, say, 7 handicap couldn't get a round a day under 86 on a course you play constantly?

You'd want to find a home course that's not crowded. It's probably nbd to restart several times at an out of the way country club with limited members.

Many of us played a little ball in college. And it's not 365 straight rounds starting today, which would be tough (but not impossible for me, btw). You can play as many rounds each day as you like, and you can start and restart the 365 day period as often as you like.

you'd have to be a ~3 hdcp or lower to have a chance. at that level you're scoring 86 or less in 90-95% of your rounds. and even then you'd have to do it on 365 consecutive days, which means one unexpected bad weather day or windy day and you're in trouble. even in california or arizona.

and golf as you know is a mental game, you could have a shitty fever or you got in a blowup fight with your wife the day before and you're in danger.

again--no one here can do this.

There is no downside in the same way that there is no downside to finding a map to Blackbeard's treasure. You don't have to go looking for it. But it might consume you if you do.

Side question for golf mfes itt: If every 2026 PGA tour card holder started this hypo today, how many could successfully complete it 365 days from now? Assume they're all trying their best to complete the hypo.

100% of them. or maybe like 99% since probably someone would get injured or some shit.

Injuries, rain, two bad rounds in a row...

Even if they shoot under 87 from the regular men's tees 99.9% of the time--and 99.99% of days when given multiple bites at the apple--the odds of something with 99.99% probability happening 365 times in a row are "only" 96.4%.

PGA tour players literally never shoot 87. a bad round for them is like 75 on tour level course setups. they would have to be in a coma or something to not get this done.

You could make it 76 and they’d still get it done at an average course from the whites or blues

I don't think you understand how easy a regular course would be for a tour pro

If a scratch player gets par over his best 8 rounds out of 48 on his local course, Scheffler or Mclrory would beat them by over 10 strokes from the same 8 / 48

their biggest risk would be getting stuck somewhere because of weather and every course being closed. That or some life threatening injury. Broken arm or torn acl those guys could still shoot 80s

would definitely do this

86 is high enough its easy if thats the goal and youre not playing an extremely difficult course. otoh if it was 82 or so a really windy day might fuck you

How many days until you got to 10 days in a row with an 86 or below? How many days until you got 100 in a row? All 365?

365/365 barring an injury or something. cant remember the last time i had a scorecard above 80 on an average difficulty course.

had times i would have been 10+ over if i was holing everything out but those were match play on windy as hell links courses where i lost balls in gorse etc. definitely not the type of place id tee it up for this hypo and totally different strategy

The 20 different courses part makes it interesting

If you're in winter and want to have more than 1 round / day booked to be safe, you might end up outside your comfort zone

No. Even a 5 handicap is going to shoot 90 occasionally. If you made it 360/365 it’d be hard but doable. But 365 days without a meltdown is really tough.

you can play more than one round a day and also start over if you shoot like 48 in the front.
