metals (e.g. gold, silver, platinum, etc.) are thermometers for fiat debasement. You don't use a thermometer to warm you up when it's cold, or to cool you off in a desert. The value of gold, silver, etc. hasn't changed. The "temperature" reading of metals right now is telling you fiat currencies are going through massive debasement. Even copper, which isn't a monetary metal, is at all time highs.
