RSF here, the latest national security strategy document driven by my drinking buddy El Colby, explicitly states "FUCK EUROPE". You: poast.

in europe water/soda bottles also must have caps that remain connected to the bottle, this is the biggest euro innovation of the 21st century

otherday i ordered 6 1.5L water in TH delivery and the botltes were like this, i almost wanted to rape the bottles like lizards. it was absurd, some stupid thai retard though it was a good idea to adopt

Europeans Spend 575 Million Hours Clicking Cookie Banners Every Year

Analysis of the economic and productivity losses caused by cookie banners in Europe, including country-specific estimates and legal insights into the outdated EU Directive 2002/58.

The Productivity Cost of Cookie Banners

To grasp the profound impact of cookie banners on European productivity and the economy, we need to break down the calculations. Starting with the total population of the European Union in 2024, which is approximately 449.2 million people, we assume an internet penetration rate of around 90%, resulting in 404.28 million internet users.

On average, a user visits about 100 websites per month, totaling 1,200 websites per year. With about 85% of these websites displaying a cookie banner, a user will encounter about 1,020 cookie banners every year. Assuming it takes an average of 5 seconds per interaction with a cookie banner, this amounts to 5,100 seconds per year per user, or roughly 1.42 hours per year.

Multiplying this by the total number of internet users in the EU, we reach the following total time: 404.28 million users × 1.42 hours/year ≈ 575 million hours/year.

Is the assumption that they have to click a cookie banner every time they visit the same website, or that they visit 1.2k unique websites per year?

Someone should innovate a browser that says yes to all these (or no to all these) automatically.

that's what's so crazy about this - this cookie shit should've been baked into the browser and the user can just say no to everything tp

Can't wait for someone to blame this on African migration into Europe. Has it happened yet?

Right it’s actually CA / US that has driven adoption with a lot of this. You’re pretty safe to ignore stuff in Europe unless you are a large company. Very unlikely a regulator wastes any time and will just warn you anyway. But in US you have an army of cslg types harassing you for real damages
